An interior design competition called Interior Architecture Interiors, or IAUI, has been launched in Sydney’s CBD.
IAUI is looking for design ideas for a range of projects across a range.
“We’re really excited about the idea of a competition that allows the public to enter their own ideas for the next generation of homes,” said the IAUI CEO, Rob Bailey.
“For a number of years IAUI has sought to develop the design industry as a community-led, public-private partnership.
We believe this competition can help us to do that.”
IAUI was founded in January last year and will take submissions for its 2018 competition through to the end of June.
The competition is open to all Australian-based interior designers.
IAui is a national competition established by the Australian Institute of Architects and the Australian Council of Architecture and has over 2,000 entries from a variety of design and interior disciplines.
“A key part of IAUI’s mission is to connect the design community with the community,” Bailey said.
“As the IAUAs new founder, I’m looking forward to continuing to connect IAUI members to this innovative and exciting project.”
IAUIs mission is supported by the IAAC and the National Centre for the Design of Home, which is funded by the Department of Infrastructure and Communities and the State Government.
IAUI is a part of the IAAI-National Council on Architecture.
IAIA’s 2018 competition, which Bailey said was one of the “most successful IAUis” to date, has received more than 2,400 submissions from around the world.
“I’m very excited about our new competition,” Bailey continued.
“Our membership, as well as the many members who have already submitted their ideas, will help IAUI achieve its mission of creating a new generation of architectural and design excellence.” “
IAUA’s new competition has a two-part process. “
Our membership, as well as the many members who have already submitted their ideas, will help IAUI achieve its mission of creating a new generation of architectural and design excellence.”
IAUA’s new competition has a two-part process.
First, IAUI selects the entries and then those selected by the competition receive their project proposals.
“These are the final design proposals, but we also want to give the entrants a chance to express their own unique vision for the space they want to occupy,” Bailey explained.
“The IAU’s mission to create and advance the architecture profession is very much at the heart of IAIA, so this competition is a great way for IAUI to connect with the IAAs membership and further engage with the public in the design and architecture industry.”
Second, the IAI-SAB is awarded the project proposal, and the winner receives a contract.
“With IAUA’s new membership, we can be more active in the development of IAU,” Bailey added.
“IAU will continue to be the voice of the profession in NSW, but will also be able continue to develop a global voice to support our members in the broader design community.”
IAAI will present the winners of the 2018 IAUI-SABA competition to the IAACA in October.
